Bitcoin mining, the Dutch way

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-05-04 · Version 1.0

Maenpolder ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Maenda Media, based in the Netherlands. This Privacy Policy explains what limited data we process when you use our Bitcoin mining-pool service at maenpolder.com and stratum+tcp://maenpolder.com:3333.

This policy is written in plain language. The legal basis throughout is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR — legitimate interest in operating a functional, secure mining service.

1. What we collect

From the mining service (Stratum)

  • Bitcoin addresses you submit as your mining username. These are pseudonymous and already public on-chain.
  • Worker names you choose (e.g. worker.octaxe1).
  • Connection IP addresses from your mining hardware — temporarily logged for abuse-prevention and operational debugging. Retention: 30 days.
  • Hashrate, share count, share-difficulty, timestamps — required for pool operation.

From the website (maenpolder.com)

  • Server access logs (IP, user-agent, request URL, timestamp) — temporary, kept 14 days for security/abuse prevention.
  • Local browser storage for your UI preferences (selected worker, time-window, privacy banner acknowledgement). This data never leaves your device.

2. What we DO NOT collect

  • ❌ Names, email addresses, phone numbers, postal addresses (unless you voluntarily contact us).
  • ❌ Tracking cookies or any analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel, no Hotjar, no Mixpanel — none).
  • ❌ Cross-site tracking, fingerprinting, or behavioural profiling.
  • ❌ KYC / identity-verification documents. We are non-custodial — we never hold your funds — and therefore not subject to KYC obligations.
  • ❌ Payment information. Block rewards are paid via Bitcoin coinbase outputs directly to your address; we never touch the funds.

3. Third parties

The minimum necessary for site operation:

  • Bunny Fonts (fonts.bunny.net) — privacy-friendly, GDPR-compliant alternative to Google Fonts. Bunny does not log IP-based requests for advertising purposes.
  • jsDelivr / Cloudflare CDN — for delivering JavaScript libraries (Tailwind, Chart.js). These CDNs may briefly observe your IP for delivery purposes; they do not receive any personal data from us.

We use no advertising trackers, no Facebook/Google Tag Manager, no third-party widgets that profile users.

4. Where data is stored

All operational data is stored on a single server located in the European Union. We do not transfer personal data to third countries. Backups (when implemented) are encrypted and stored within the EU.

5. Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access any personal data we hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR).
  • Rectify inaccurate data (Art. 16).
  • Erase your data ("right to be forgotten", Art. 17). Note: Bitcoin addresses recorded in the public blockchain are immutable and cannot be deleted.
  • Restrict or object to processing (Art. 18, 21).
  • Data portability — export your stats in machine-readable form (Art. 20).
  • Lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or any other EU supervisory authority.

To exercise any right, email privacy@maenpolder.com. We respond within 30 days.

6. Data retention

  • Mining stats (hashrate history): 7 days
  • Stratum connection logs (IP): 30 days
  • Website access logs: 14 days
  • Bitcoin addresses we have ever seen: kept indefinitely as part of operational state (you can request removal; addresses on-chain remain on-chain).
  • Block-find records: indefinitely (for transparency and accountability of payouts).

7. Security

We employ standard security measures: TLS encryption for all web traffic, fail2ban + ufw for SSH/network protection, no privileged access for non-essential personnel, and isolated services. We are not perfect — if you believe you have found a vulnerability, please email security@maenpolder.com.

8. Children

This service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly process data from children.

9. Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced on the website. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the current version.

10. Contact

Questions, requests, or complaints:

Dutch / EU residents may also contact the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens directly.
